King Arthur sails the broken sea, His ship the summer's pride, To scale the walls of Caer Siddi With tested men and tried. I know but one who sails within The ranks of Arthur's men To challenge death at Caer Siddi. The Prydwyn sails again. The Prydwyn sails again. At Arthur's call, the bravest Of his knights did take to sea. Of a legion, seven did return Who once faced Caer Siddi. So bear my token proudly, love, And fight until the end. I know your banner's carried as The Prydwyn sails again. The Prydwen sails again. The Cauldron and the peace it brings Are nowhere in this land. May Arthur find them finally With you among his band. Keep your shield before you And your head held high, my friend. I'll bring my sword to join you when The Prydwyn sails again. The Prydwyn sails again. The Prydwyn sails again... They Prydwyn sails again.

Nightmares 03:47
Hey Old Man, rest your head You're breaking down inside Armour's cracked, set to collapse Please now, don't you cry I've ended lives, I've ended worlds I guess I've done it all Fire, and ice, and rage inside How long 'til I fall? Somewhere all my darkest dreams are gathering It's not enough to save the day I can't escape my nightmares Dreams have shown me who I am A danger to myself Trickster, feared, far from revered So I must fear as well Words and laughter, wearing thin Breaking this disguise Where do angels fear to tread? How can I think to hide? Somewhere all my darkest dreams are gathering It's not enough to save the day I can't escape my nightmares Somewhere all my darkest dreams are gathering It's not enough to save the day I can't escape my nightmares

My feet resound on to the stoney street Rain begins to pour down my face I can't seem to cry again The sky weeps with me A mournful lullabye I can hear Familiar as the sun and the moon The voice of one calling, suddenly stilled Silence, and no more Cry, cry for the death of your friends Cry for the end of the world Cry, cry, until no tears will come And the sky weeps for you Freshwater tears Voices chatter, I hear them now All around me something is calling The endless night is ever ahead Rain drips down my face Tears of sorrow and tears of pain Tears of grief and tears of rage My knife slipped and fell from my hand I couldn't take his life Cry, cry, for the life that was spared Cry for the death of your brother Cry, cry, until no tears will come And the sky weeps for you Freshwater tears The killer runs down an empty street The stranger who had once been my friend I turned and fell on the rainsoaked pavement And tried to take it all in Blood and pain and endless grief Replaces my anger at what has been done there Everything I'd believed or known Suddenly empty and worthless Cry, cry for the world is unjust Cry for the life of a killer Cry, cry until no tears will come And the sky weeps for you Freshwater tears My feet resound on to the stoney street Rain begins to pour down my face I can't seem to cry again The sky weeps with me

Little child, be not afraid The rain pounds harsh against the glass Like an unwanted stranger There is no danger I am here tonight Little child Be not afraid Though thunder explodes And lightning flash Illuminates your tearstained face I am here tonight And someday you'll know That nature is so This same rain that draws you near me Falls on rivers and land And forests and sand Makes the beautiful world that you see In the morning Little child Be not afraid The storm clouds mask your beloved moon And its candlelight beams Still keep pleasant dreams I am here tonight Little child Be not afraid The wind makes creatures of our trees And the branches to hands They're not real, understand And I am here tonight And someday you'll know That nature is so This same rain that draws you near me Falls on rivers and land And forest and sand Makes the beautiful world that you see In the morning For you know, once even I Was a little child And I was afraid But a gentle someone always came To dry all my tears Trade sweet sleep the fears And to give a kiss goodnight Well, now I am grown And these years have shown Rain's a part of how life goes But it's dark and it's late So I'll hold you and wait 'til your frightened eyes do close And I hope that you'll know That nature is so This same rain that draws you near me Falls on rivers and land And forests and sand Makes the beautiful world that you see In the morning Everything's fine in the morning The rain will be gone in the morning But I'll still be here in the morning

Forgiven 04:19
Couldn't save you from the start Love you so it hurts my soul Can you forgive me for trying again Your silence makes me hold my breath Time has passed you by Oh, for so long I've tried to shield you from the world Oh, you couldn't face the freedom on your own Here I am left in silence You gave up the fight You left me behind All that's done's forgiven You'll always be mine I know deep inside All that's done's forgiven I watched the clouds drifting away Still the sun can't warm my face I know it was destined to go wrong You were looking for the great escape To chase your demons away Oh, for so long I've tried to shield you from the world Oh, you couldn't face the freedom on your own And here I am left in silence You gave up the fight You left me behind All that's done's forgiven You'll always be mine I know deep inside All that's done's forgiven I've been so lost since you've gone Why not me before you? Why did fate deceive me? Everything turned out so wrong Why did you leave me in silence? You gave up the fight You left me behind All that's done's forgiven You'll always be mine I know deep inside All that's done's forgiven

Lay down your head and close your eyes and travel into sleep I know the world is wild and wide with secrets you must keep So many things to see and do you do not wish to rest Lay down your head and close your eyes or you will miss the best Your papa wanders through the stars defending humankind He fights for justice and for love so gentle and so kind Your eyes are open, watching, an you'll be like him one day But even saviors need their rest and you are far away The dreams that wait in slumberland are fairer still than these So close your eyes and dream them now as pretty as you please You can walk among the stars through all of space and time So little one lay down your head and close your sleepy eyes
8.
Don't think about tomorrow We've only got today There's nothing that I want from you Not a word you have to say You are all I need And all I can defend All I need to hold on to If the world should end In my imagination I could not have made this up In a world stranger than fiction Ours is no fictional love I can see the you Under your second skin I can feel your heartbeat quicken Quicken and then slow There's nothing else I need to know And there's nothing you need to pretend If the world should end And the sky tonight is luminous For all the wrong reasons And every doorway is hiding something And if this world should all Come crashing down I wouldn't care at all And if there's no tomorrow I'll have today again There's no time for sorrow When there's no such thing as time And if the darkness will descend Don't need a savior or a friend I can say I've really loved If the world should end
9.
Time is a river that flows endlessly And a life is a whisper, a kiss in a dream Shadows dance behind the firelight And all the spirits of the night remind us: We are not alone Tomorrow: a sun soon rising And yesterday is there beside us And it's never far away If you listen to the wind you can hear me again Even when I'm gone you can still hear the song High up in the trees as it moves through the leaves Listen to the wind, there's no end to my... Love is forever a circle unbroken The seasons keep changing; it always remains Spring will melt the snows of winter And the summer gives us days of light So long till autumn makes them fade Remember the sound of laughter We ran together through the meadows Still we thought our hearts could break If you listen to the wind, you can hear me again Even when I'm gone you can still hear the song High up in the trees as it moves through the leaves Listen to the wind and I'll send you my love Listen to the wind where the sky meets the land I'm not really gone I've been here all along High up in the trees in the sound of the leaves Listen to the wind there's no end to my... Time is a river that flows to the sea And a life is a whisper, a kiss in a dream.

about

From the halls of King Arthur to the distant future ballads have been the stock-in-trade of all musicians. Music has changed over time in style, in instrument, in skill and interpretation, but one thing remains the same. Music exists to tell a story that mere words cannot convey—uplifting, inspiring, and understanding. Music can be joyous or heartfelt or it can come in the form of a heartbreaking lament, but whatever the story it tells it reaches out and speaks to the heart of the listener, changing them.

The songs I have chosen reflect the diversity of the role music plays in our lives. Melodies from as far back as the mythical halls of King Arthur to songs written in the distant future for time travelers and mutants are collected together into a cohesive narrator. Alternative rock, traditional folk, and music written for popular fandoms are gathered into one collection portrayed by a single harp and voice. I invite you to embrace the rich history of folk music, and to travel a well worn path from the mists of time—through all of space and time.
